U.S. President Donald Trump has indicated that Washington may conclude its military operations against Iran in as little as two to three weeks.
Speaking to reporters at the Oval Office on Tuesday, Trump said:
“We’ll be leaving very soon… within two weeks, maybe two weeks, maybe three.”
The President clarified that ending the campaign does not hinge on Tehran striking a deal with Washington.
“Iran doesn’t have to make a deal, no. No, they don’t have to make a deal with me,” he added.
Trump stressed that the key condition is ensuring Iran cannot acquire a nuclear weapon. Once that objective is secured, he said, the United States would immediately withdraw from its ongoing operations.
