The fan-powered OPM countdown show VIBE paid tribute to original Filipino music icons in a special “OG Night,” honoring the artists who helped shape the Original Pilipino Music (OPM) industry.
The show opened with VIBE Jocks and Gen V performers delivering a medley of classic hits, including “A Million Thanks to You,” “Bulag, Pipi at Bingi,” “Ipaglalaban Ko,” “Anak,” “Handog,” and “Kay Ganda ng Ating Musika”—highlighting the enduring influence of timeless OPM songs.


Headlining the night was the Philippines’ Queen of Soul, Jaya, who performed “Dahil Tanging Ikaw” and “Wala Na Bang Pag-Ibig.” She also shared advice for aspiring R&B artists, emphasizing dedication, faith, and perseverance in a challenging industry.
Joining the tribute was Jude Michael with “Problemang Puso,” reflecting on personal experiences as inspiration for his music.
The program also spotlighted rising viral talents through its VIBE SPOT segment.


Harry Ocampo performed his original track “Layag” before passing the spotlight to Ian Mark, dubbed the “Pitik Queen,” known for his viral dance moves “Pitik with Soft Moves” and “Sige Kembot.” Ocampo expressed gratitude for the opportunity, saying performing on the VIBE stage felt uplifting.
OPM legend Tina Paner delivered a nostalgic performance of “Sana,” sharing that it was her debut single and remains beloved today.


Meanwhile, OPM band NEXXUS performed their late ’90s hit “I Keep On Saying” and revealed plans for a new single.
Adding cultural depth, Bayang Barrios and her group Ang Naliyagan energized the stage with “Naglalakbay,” a song first released in 2004.
Rock band Shamrock returned with their classic hit “Haplos,” reaffirming their unchanged musical identity and passion for performing.


Closing the OG Night were the J Brothers with “Labanan Natin Ang Tukso,” sharing that their focus on music helps them overcome life’s temptations.
The special episode celebrated the lasting legacy of OPM while also giving a platform to emerging artists.
Voting for “Uprising” and “Main VIBE” continues until April 9 at 11:59 a.m. The show will observe a Holy Week break from Maundy Thursday to Black Saturday, returning on April 7 for VIBE Nights and April 11 for the main live show.
