VILLAR RIVALS FACE BANK ACCOUNT FREEZE IN BFRV DISPUTE

The long-running conflict between the Villar family and a faction of BF Resort Village (BFRV) residents in Las Piñas has escalated into a financial showdown.

The Human Settlements Adjudication Commission (HSAC) has ordered the garnishment of personal bank accounts belonging to Euan Rex Toralballa and 13 other homeowners, according to a report by Bilyonaryo.

The order, dated February 1 and served to EastWest Bank, targets assets of residents who have opposed the business interests of former Senator Cynthia Villar and real estate magnate Manny Villar.

The dispute stems from the controversial “Cavite Bridge,” which links Villar City’s NOMO District and the Villar Family Farm School.

Tensions began in July 2022 when BFRV’s homeowners association restricted access to vehicles with Las Piñas “Friendship Route” stickers at Onelia Jose Street.

The garnishment was initiated by a pro-Villar faction, BF Resort Village TALON Homeowners Association Inc. (BFRVTHAI), led by Jose Deo Aguinaldo, Joan Compas-Batac, and Aida Pineda.

The HSAC, acting through Sheriff Nino John R. San Felipe, issued the order as part of its quasi-judicial mandate.

The commission, formerly the Housing and Land Use Regulatory Board (HLURB), was reconstituted under the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development during the Duterte administration.
