PHILIPPINES — Filipino idol performer Cess Merleen Grace, known to fans as Cess, is celebrating her fifth anniversary as a solo idol, marking five years of stage performances, Japanese music covers, and original releases within the growing local idol scene.
Carrying the theme “5 Years of Dream, Passion and Love for Music,” the milestone celebration introduced a refreshed stage costume and a new dance cover of songs by =LOVE, highlighting her continued inspiration from Japanese pop culture.
From group beginnings to solo spotlight
Cess began her idol journey in February 2021 under Hello! Project Philippines, a collective inspired by Japan’s Hello Project brand. She later transitioned into a solo career while remaining active in collaborative initiatives such as the Love Live inspired cover group Hoshizora and as a vocalist for Yume Miru.
Her work across group and solo platforms established her versatility in live performance and vocal presentation, helping her cultivate a loyal fanbase.
