DETECTIVE CONAN RECREATES ICONIC OPENING & ENDING THEMES FOR “EPISODE ZERO” SPECIAL

In celebration of the Detective Conan anime’s 30th anniversary, the long-running series revisited its musical roots by remaking its original opening and ending theme songs for the special episode Episode “ZERO”: Kudo Shinichi Aquarium Incident. The special aired as a one-hour broadcast on January 3, 2026, on Yomiuri TV and Nippon TV, marking a milestone moment for the franchise.

For the anniversary event, the series brought back the very first opening theme, “Mune ga Dokidoki” by The High-Lows, and the original ending theme, “STEP BY STEP” by ZIGGY, surprising viewers with nostalgic music that harkens back to Detective Conan’s earliest episodes. Both themes were played with updated visuals that honor the anime’s beginnings while celebrating its expansion over three decades.
