KAPAMILYA CHANNEL SCORES STRONG FIRST DAY ON ALLTV2

The first day of “Kapamilya Channel sa ALLTV2” proved to be a success yesterday, January 2 (Friday).

The broadcast officially began with “Kapamilya Daily Mass” at 5:30 AM and concluded with “Movie Central Presents” at 2:00 AM the following day, marking a full-day lineup of Kapamilya programming on free television.

Viewers were able to watch ABS-CBN’s Primetime Bida block on “Kapamilya Channel sa ALLTV2,” including “FPJ’s Batang Quiapo,” “ROJA,” “What Lies Beneath,” and “Go Ahead,” just one day after ABS-CBN’s content partnership with TV5 Network Inc. officially ended.

Also aired during the first day were “It’s Showtime,” “TV Patrol,” “Magandang Buhay,” “Kapamilya Blockbusters,” and “The World Tonight,” along with reruns of well-loved Kapamilya programs such as “100 Days To Heaven,” “Lavender Fields,” “Senior High,” and “Kapamilya Deal or No Deal.”

In a social media post, former Senate President and business tycoon Manny Villar, Chairman of Advanced Media Broadcasting System (AMBS), happily shared the launch of the Kapamilya Channel on ALLTV2.

“Nasa ALLTV2 na ang Kapamilya Channel! Enjoy your favorite Kapamilya shows all day, mula umaga hanggang gabi. Re-scan your TVs and tune in now,” Villar said.

It can be recalled that Advanced Media Broadcasting System, the owner and operator of ALLTV2, signed a licensing agreement deal with ABS-CBN Corporation to bring the Lopez-owned cable channel Kapamilya Channel to free-to-air Channel 2.

This development comes years after ABS-CBN lost its broadcast franchise following the decision of the House of Representatives during the administration of former President Rodrigo Duterte, a known critic of the Kapamilya Network.

Meanwhile, the Kapamilya Channel and its HD feed remain available on cable television and via livestream on ABS-CBN’s streaming platform iWant.

Most ABS-CBN programs also continue to air on A2Z, while the Kapamilya noontime show “It’s Showtime” is still being broadcast on GMA-7.
