Filipino-made films will headline the first week of broadcast of TV5’s new movie block, “Cine Cinco Primetime.”
This Friday, January 2, TV viewers will get the free TV premiere of the 2023 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) historical film “GomBurZa,” starring Dante Rivero, Enchong Dee, and MMFF 2023 Best Actor winner Cedrick Juan.

Based on the true story of the three martyred priests Mariano Gómez, José Burgos, and Jacinto Zamora, the film earned the 2nd Best Picture award along with several other recognitions at the 49th MMFF, further cementing its critical and cultural significance.
On Monday, January 5, another 2023 MMFF entry will make its free TV debut — “Penduko,” starring Matteo Guidicelli, John Arcilla, and Kylie Verzosa.
The lineup continues with “Babae at Baril” starring Janine Gutierrez on January 6; “Maledicto” featuring Tom Rodriguez and Jasmine Curtis-Smith on January 7; “Hindi Tayo Pwede” starring Lovi Poe, Tony Labrusca, and Marco Gumabao on January 8; and the foreign action film “Confidential Assignment 2” on January 9.
The “Cine Cinco Primetime” movie block will air temporarily on free TV as TV5 prepares new programs to fill the primetime slot vacated by ABS-CBN Studios, following the end of its partnership with the Kapatid Network.
“Cine Cinco Primetime” officially begins airing tonight at 8:45 PM, right after “Totoy Bato,” as part of the Todomax Primetime Singko block on TV5.
