After years away from the Kapatid Network, renowned talent mentor and Philippine showbiz “star-maker” Johnny Manahan — better known as Mr. M — is making his return to TV5.
This was confirmed to us by reliable sources.
According to sources, Mr. M has been tapped as the Creative Director of Vibe, an upcoming music countdown show set to air on TV5.
The network is also reportedly developing another weekly variety program to potentially air back-to-back with ABS-CBN’s ASAP, which also airs on TV5.
There is speculation that Manahan may also be involved in directing this second project.
Mr. M first joined TV5 following ABS-CBN’s shutdown in 2020 and served as the director of Sunday Noontime Live, a short-lived Sunday noontime show featuring Piolo Pascual, Maja Salvador, and Catriona Gray.
The show ended after just a few months on air due to low ratings.
After his stint with TV5, Manahan moved to GMA Network as a consultant for GMA Sparkle, the network’s talent management arm.
His comeback to TV5 marks yet another chapter in his decades-long career as one of the most respected figures in Philippine entertainment.
