The excitement is building up for ABS-CBN’s newest series What Lies Beneath, as its lead stars met the press last Monday, October 13, for the official media conference.
Present during the event were Janella Salvador, Sue Ramirez, Charlie Dizon, and Kaila Estrada — joined by co-stars Jake Cuenca, JM de Guzman, and Jameson Blake.
In a recent TV Patrol interview aired Friday, October 10, the cast shared their enthusiasm and teased what viewers can expect from the upcoming teleserye.
Sue Ramirez hinted at the heart of the story, saying, “I don’t want to spoil anything pero ayun, we’re four friends, this is centered on friendship, love, family and most of all, it’s about womanhood, women empowerment.”
For Charlie Dizon, What Lies Beneath offers a complete viewing experience: “Makikita nila lahat, may drama, comedy, action din so punong-puno po ‘to talaga.”
Janella Salvador described the show as an “acting showdown,” saying, “Oo, bigayan talaga kaming lahat, hindi lang kaming apat, syempre kasama nga namin sina Jake, JM so talagang magkaka-eksena kami, andun kami lahat, nagbibigayan lahat.”
Meanwhile, Kaila Estrada shared a deeper take on the story’s message: “It’s about seeking truth, and seeking justice. It’s also the result of that, of being able to find that.”
Produced by RCD Narratives, What Lies Beneath will temporarily take the timeslot of the highly anticipated series ROJA starring Donny Pangilinan and Kyle Echarri, which is set to premiere this November.
What Lies Beneath streams first on Netflix starting October 17, and will air on Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, A2Z, and TV5 beginning October 20.
