MALACAÑANG DENIES TIANGCO’S CLAIMS OF VOTE-BUYING AGAINST VP SARA

Malacañang on Monday pushed back against claims made by Navotas City Lone District Representative Toby Tiangco regarding alleged vote-buying in the impeachment proceedings against Vice President Sara Duterte, dismissing the accusations as unfounded.

“Ang daming sinasabi pero wala tayong nakikitang anumang ebidensiya,” Communications Undersecretary and Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said, urging Tiangco to present proof to support his statements.

Castro cautioned that airing unverified allegations could erode public confidence in government institutions.

“Sa ngayon pa lamang hindi dapat niyang sirain ang anumang institusyon ng gobyerno… lalo na wala siyang ebidensiya,” she added.

She also questioned Tiangco’s focus on the Vice President, noting that other individuals allegedly linked to irregularities have not been subjected to the same level of scrutiny.

“Marami naman na nai-involve… pero nililihis ninyo ang inyong mata,” Castro said, hinting at selective criticism.
