Malacañang has called on Senator Imee Marcos to formally bring her allegations of a “buwayang mastermind” behind the flood control scam to the proper authorities, such as the Office of the Ombudsman or the Department of Justice.
The statement came after the senator pushed for greater transparency in the report of the Independent Commission for Infrastructure, claiming that the alleged mastermind has yet to be charged and that corruption involving public funds remains unresolved.
Communications Undersecretary and Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said that if Senator Marcos possesses evidence and is growing impatient, she should take the initiative to file a case.
“Hamon natin kay Senator Imee, kung mayroon kayong alam, kung sino man yung buwayang pinaparinggan, i-file nyo na sa Ombudsman o sa DOJ kung anong magiging jurisdiction nyan,” Castro stated.
Castro added that the senator’s remarks indicate she may already have a specific individual in mind, making it more appropriate to pursue legal action instead of issuing broad public accusations.
Senator Marcos has been vocal in criticizing Malacañang in recent months, often directing her remarks at her brother, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., over various political issues.
