REGINE VELASQUEZ ANNOUNCES “FINALE” AS HER LAST MAJOR SOLO CONCERT

In a move that marks the end of an era for Original Pilipino Music (OPM), Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez-Alcasid has officially announced her final major solo concert.

Titled “FINALE,” the two-night musical extravaganza is scheduled to take place on October 17 and 18, 2026, at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.

The announcement was made on May 1, 2026, coinciding with the singer’s 40th anniversary in the entertainment industry. Through a social media post featuring an elegant portrait painted by artist Welbart, the singer invited fans to witness what she describes as her last large-scale solo performance.

In a recent interview with Billboard Philippines, Velasquez-Alcasid shared her reflections on her four-decade career and her decision to step back from the massive solo stage.

She clarified that while she will continue to participate in smaller projects, the high-pressure environment of major solo productions will conclude with this show.

“Although I still have some projects next year, but this will be my last big solo concert… Sabi ng asawa ko retirement means naman not really stopping altogether. It means doing whatever it is that you wanna do, but it will free me from ‘yung pressure of trying to please everyone.”

(“Although I still have some projects next year, this will be my last big solo concert… My husband said that retirement doesn’t really mean stopping altogether. It means doing whatever it is that you want to do, but it will free me from the pressure of trying to please everyone.”)

The singer, now 56, expressed that reaching the 40-year milestone felt like the appropriate time to bid farewell to the rigorous demands of stadium-sized concerts.

Her husband, singer-songwriter Ogie Alcasid, has been a vocal supporter of this transition, encouraging her to focus on passion projects that offer more personal fulfillment without the stress of commercial expectations.

”FINALE” follows the success of her “Regine Rocks” series in 2023 and 2024, which showcased her versatility in the rock genre. While specific setlists and guest performers for the upcoming October dates have yet to be revealed, the concert is expected to be a career-spanning retrospective, celebrating her legacy as one of the most influential vocalists in Southeast Asia.

Production details, including ticket prices and official guest lists, are expected to be released by iMusic Entertainment and the SM Mall of Asia Arena in the coming months.
