MALACAÑANG DISTANCES ITSELF FROM RECTO-LEVISTE FEUD

Malacañang on Wednesday clarified that it is staying out of the ongoing dispute between Executive Secretary Ralph Recto and Batangas 1st District Representative Leandro Leviste.

“Kung mayroon man silang personal na alitan, sa kanilang dalawa na lamang po iyon,” Communications Undersecretary and Palace Press Officer Claire Castro stated.

The Palace official noted that while the President and Recto held a meeting on Tuesday, the friction between the two politicians was never brought up.

“Ang Pangulo po ay nagkaroon po ng pagpupulong kasama si Executive Secretary Ralph Recto kahapon at hindi po ito napag-usapan,” Castro added.

Recto and Leviste have recently engaged in a public exchange of allegations on social media, with the Executive Secretary claiming that Leviste attempted to bribe him in exchange for political favors.

“At sa ating pagkakaalam ay sumagot na po si Executive Secretary Ralph Recto at basahin na lamang po ninyo kung ano ang mensahe ni ES Ralph Recto,” Castro said, directing the public to Recto’s official statements regarding the matter.
