President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Sunday led the nation in celebrating Mother’s Day, offering a heartfelt tribute to the “light of the home” and acknowledging the pivotal role women play in nation-building.
In a social media post, the President expressed his gratitude for the sacrifices made by Filipino mothers, highlighting their strength as the foundation of the community.
The greeting was accompanied by a photo featuring First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, former First Lady Imelda Marcos, and his younger sister, Irene Marcos-Araneta. Observers noted that the President’s elder sister, Senator Imee Marcos, was not included in the image.
In a separate, more personal post, Marcos Jr. honored his wife, First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, thanking her for her steadfast dedication to their sons and their life together.
“I have watched you love this family for years, not out of a Mother’s duty but out of a Mother’s love. Our boys could not have asked for a more loving mother, and I could not have asked for a better partner to walk through life with,” the President said.
