The Philippine National Police (PNP) has received six additional firearms connected to Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa, raising the total number of surrendered weapons to 26.
The latest firearms were voluntarily turned over by the lawmaker’s lawyer at his registered residence in Silang, Cavite, before being processed by the CALABARZON Regional Civil Security Unit and forwarded to the Firearms and Explosives Office.
Police records indicate that Dela Rosa initially had 117 firearms registered under his name. However, his gun registrations and his license to own and possess firearms were canceled following an active manhunt linked to an arrest warrant from the International Criminal Court (ICC).
The senator previously maintained a Type 5 License to Own and Possess Firearms (LTOPF), a classification designated for certified collectors authorized to own 15 or more weapons.
Under Republic Act 10591, individuals facing pending criminal charges or convictions carrying a prison sentence of more than two years are legally disqualified from gun ownership.
