ALL SEVEN NCT 127 MEMBERS RENEW CONTRACTS WITH SM ENTERTAINMENT

SM Entertainment announced on Wednesday that all seven current members of NCT 127 have decided to extend their exclusive contracts, cementing the group’s future under the label that launched them nearly a decade ago.

The newly signed agreements cover members Taeyong, Johnny, Yuta, Doyoung, Jaehyun, Jungwoo, and Haechan, according to an official statement released by the agency on the fan platform Weverse.

In their statement, SM Entertainment highlighted the deep connection and collaborative spirit that drove the decision:

“This renewal reflects the unwavering teamwork and strong bond the members have built over the years, as well as the mutual trust between the members and the company.”

The agency also took the opportunity to express its appreciation for the group’s journey and their loyal global fan base:

“We are truly grateful to the members for their dedication over the past ten years, and to the fans whose steadfast support has made this journey possible.”

As the group transitions into this next phase of their career, SM Entertainment pledged its full commitment to their ongoing success:

”We will continue to fully support NCT 127’s activities and remain a trusted partner as the group embarks on its next chapter.”

In the K-pop industry, contract renewals are highly significant milestones, particularly when artists transition past the standard seven-year agreement length. These decisions are closely watched as they often signal a group’s long-term viability, potential lineup modifications, or eventual disbandment.

NCT 127 is currently preparing for an August album release. However, only Taeyong, Johnny, Yuta, Jaehyun, and Haechan will participate in the upcoming promotional activities, as Doyoung and Jungwoo are currently fulfilling their mandatory military service.

The renewal news follows several recent roster changes within the broader NCT brand. Mark Lee and Winwin have parted ways with SM Entertainment, while Thai member Ten has also left the agency but indicated his desire to join future NCT promotions whenever feasible.

Originally debuting in 2016, NCT (Neo Culture Technology) is a multi-unit K-pop collective that has expanded to include more than 20 active members performing across various localized teams worldwide.
