NCAA SIGNS NEW BROADCAST DEAL WITH CIGNAL

Putting months of media speculation to rest, the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) has officially locked in a new broadcasting agreement for its highly anticipated 102nd season.

The premier collegiate league finalized a two-year partnership with Cignal on Wednesday, ensuring that NCAA sporting events will be broadcast nationwide through the MediaQuest group, which includes TV5’s free-to-air television channel.

Key Executives in Attendance

The contract signing was attended by key leaders from both the media network and the academic league:

  • Manuel V. Pangilinan (MediaQuest Chairman)
  • Ricky Vargas (MediaQuest President and Chief Executive Officer)
  • Christopher Lizo (MediaQuest Chief Financial Officer and Cignal Officer-in-Charge)
  • Fr. Aloysius Maranan, OSB (NCAA Policy Board President)
  • Dr. Jose Paulo Campos and Dr. Dodjie Maestrecampo (NCAA Policy Board members)

What to Expect for Season 102 and Beyond

Under the newly minted agreement, Cignal will hold the official broadcasting rights for both Season 102 and Season 103.

The upcoming 102nd season is scheduled to launch on September 13, with San Beda University stepping up as the host school for the entire athletic calendar.

This partnership marks the latest transition in the league’s rich broadcasting history. Prior to this deal, NCAA games were carried by GMA Network from 2021 until early 2026.

GMA had taken over broadcasting duties following the forced off-air status of ABS-CBN Corporation, the league’s longtime television partner before the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The NCAA remains one of the most prestigious collegiate sports organizations in the Philippines, showcasing elite student-athletes across a wide array of sports.
