During his working visit to Singapore, President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. met with Prime Minister Lawrence Wong at the Istana on Wednesday, July 15, to discuss strengthening relations between the two nations.
According to Malacañang, the meeting highlighted the enduring relationship between the Philippines and Singapore, with both leaders discussing avenues to deepen cooperation in several key sectors.
The talks focused on boosting bilateral trade, expanding joint ventures in artificial intelligence, driving greater investment flows, and enhancing cooperative programs in healthcare and social development.
The Presidential Communications Office (PCO) indicated that both governments are also working toward new bilateral agreements designed to bring mutual benefits and elevate their strategic partnership.
”The Philippines and Singapore reaffirmed their shared commitment in keeping ASEAN as a peaceful, stable, and prosperous region with greater opportunities for their peoples,” the PCO said.
Marcos arrived in Singapore on Tuesday, July 14, for a three-day visit aimed at reinforcing economic and diplomatic ties, as well as supporting regional cooperation ahead of Singapore assuming the ASEAN chairmanship next year.
The President’s trip is scheduled to conclude on Thursday, July 16.
