VP SARA MAINTAINS “GOOD” RATING IN LATEST SWS SURVEY

Public satisfaction with Vice President Sara Duterte remains largely favorable, according to the second-quarter national poll conducted by the Social Weather Stations (SWS) from June 20 to 29, 2026.

The pollster revealed that 58% of Filipinos approved of the Vice President’s performance while 26% disapproved, yielding a “good” net satisfaction score of +31. This mark represents a minor two-point rise from her +29 rating (54% satisfied versus 25% dissatisfied) recorded in March 2026.

According to the SWS report:

“The two point increase in Vice President Duterte’s net satisfaction rating from March 2026 to June 2026 was due to an increase in Balance Luzon, combined with a smaller increase in Mindanao and a decrease in Metro Manila, while the Visayas held steady.”

Regional and Demographic Breakdown

Duterte continues to draw her strongest backing from Mindanao, where her net satisfaction score reached +84 (up two points from +82). Her ratings also climbed by five points in Balance Luzon, moving from +5 to +10. Conversely, her score dipped by two points in Metro Manila to +3, while remaining stable in the Visayas at +36.

Other key findings regarding the Vice President’s performance include:

  • Urban vs. Rural: Support remained steady at +36 in rural districts, while urban centers saw her rating rise by four points to +27, staying within the “moderate” bracket.
  • Gender: Her rating among female respondents climbed five points to +33, transitioning from “moderate” to “good,” while remaining flat at +29 among male respondents.
  • Age: She maintained “good” ratings among younger demographics, scoring +41 among those aged 18 to 24, +43 for the 25-to-34 bracket, and +44 among those aged 35 to 44. Her rating among older seniors (55 and above) transitioned into neutral territory, rising from -4 to +4.
  • Education: College graduates showed a notable shift, lifting her net satisfaction from -3 to +12. However, her rating among junior high school graduates fell from +36 to +29.

Ratings for Other Key Government Leaders

The June 2026 SWS survey also evaluated other top national figures, including first-time assessments for newly installed congressional leaders:

  • Senate President Win Gatchalian: In his debut rating since taking the chamber’s helm in June, Gatchalian scored a “moderate” net satisfaction rating of +18 (45% satisfied, 27% dissatisfied), peaking in the Visayas at +30.
  • House Speaker Faustino “Bojie” Dy III: Dy posted a “neutral” score of +8 (33% satisfied, 26% dissatisfied), reflecting a four-point improvement from March.
  • Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo: Gesmundo earned a “moderate” net satisfaction rating of +10 (35% satisfied, 26% dissatisfied), up one point from the prior quarter.

This survey follows SWS’s July 13 release of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s performance metrics. The President recorded a “neutral” net satisfaction rating of -7 (38% satisfied, 45% dissatisfied), marking an upward recovery from his previous record low of -15.

The face-to-face survey polled 1,200 adult respondents nationwide, carrying a national margin of error of ±3 percentage points and ±6 percentage points for regional estimates.
