COCO MARTIN JOINS AKTOR TO SUPPORT ENTERTAINMENT INDUSTRY WORKERS

A-list actor and producer Coco Martin has opened up about what motivated him to align with AKTOR, an advocacy organization dedicated to safeguarding the rights and well-being of Filipino performers and crew members.

Despite his longtime status as a premier figure in local showbiz, Martin only joined the organization recently. He disclosed that veteran screen icons Cherry Pie Picache and former ABS-CBN Chief Executive Officer Charo Santos encouraged him to connect with the group’s leadership.

Taking their advice, Martin met with key officers of the association, including founding chairman Dingdong Dantes, president Iza Calzado, and fellow industry colleagues.

The Kapamilya star explained that AKTOR’s core vision and drive to uplift the local creative community ultimately inspired him to come aboard.

”Kami ni Kuya Dong, iisa ang hangarin e,” Coco said in an interview with ABS-CBN News.

Looking ahead, Martin revealed one of his dream projects under the AKTOR banner—funding a theater production, a medium deeply personal to him as it served as the launchpad for his acting career.

”Gusto ko pong mag-produce ng isang stage play… sabi ko ako magpo-produce,” he said.

He emphasized that joining AKTOR allows him to give back to the industry by leveraging his current status to unlock new avenues and possibilities for fellow artists.
