After more than a decade, the iconic 1990s screen partners Marvin Agustin and Jolina Magdangal are gearing up for a television comeback as the lead stars of TV5’s upcoming daytime romantic-comedy series, Mommy Guard.
In an interview with Kapatid entertainment journalist MJ Marfori, the duo assured fans that the project will offer a lighthearted and family-friendly experience.
Agustin noted that the feel-good tone of the show is a welcome change of pace from their last heavy drama project together, the 2015 ABS-CBN series Flordeliza.
“Bagong bago, cute yung show, masaya sya, masaya syang gawin, masaya yung characters kaya, i guess comfort zone namin ‘to ni Jolina kasi yung huli naming teleserye mabigat eh,” Marvin shared.
Joining Agustin and Magdangal in the series is fellow 90s star Dominic Ochoa, along with a mix of veteran actors and rising TV5 talent, including Susan Africa, Cedrick Juan, Pearl Gonzales, Celyn David, Patrick Ballesteros, Ge Villamil, Quinn Carillo, Inah Evans, and Hershey Neri.
Mommy Guard is scheduled to premiere during the “BER” months, airing on TV5 right before Eat… Bulaga!.
