HOUSE READY TO AID MONSOON-AFFECTED COMMUNITIES, SAYS SPEAKER DY

House Speaker Faustino “Bojie” Dy III assured the public on Monday that the House of Representatives is prepared to assist communities affected by heavy rainfall and flooding driven by the Southwest Monsoon, locally known as Habagat.

Dy emphasized that district representatives are actively monitoring conditions in their localities and collaborating with executive agencies to ensure the rapid delivery of relief efforts.

They are closely monitoring the situation on the ground and coordinating with the appropriate agencies so that we can respond immediately to the needs of our people,” he noted.

While highlighting the government’s responsibility to deliver swift disaster response, the House leader stressed that public compliance with early safety warnings is vital to preventing casualties.

Drawing from disaster management practices in his home province of Isabela—a region frequently exposed to typhoons and flood hazards—Dy highlighted the importance of early coordination, pre-positioning relief supplies, and maintaining clear communication with residents prior to severe weather events.

He reinforced that proactive planning and community cooperation remain the most effective tools for disaster mitigation across all local government units.

“Prevention, preparedness, and public cooperation save lives.
