LOPEZ INC. WELCOMES RAMON ANG AS NEW SHAREHOLDER

Lopez Inc. President Federico “Piki” Lopez has officially welcomed business tycoon Ramon S. Ang as a new shareholder in the family holding firm, expressing enthusiasm for future collaboration with his longtime friend.

The development follows Ang’s acquisition of the stake previously held by Crème Investment Corporation, representing the branch of the Lopez family led by former ABS-CBN Chairman Emeritus Eugenio “Gabby” Lopez III.

Piki Lopez emphasized that Ang’s extensive track record as chairman of San Miguel Corp. brings immense value to the company.

“We welcome Mr. Ramon Ang to Lopez Inc. with deep appreciation. We have been friends for a long time and so I do look forward to working together with him,” Lopez said.

“We recognize the value that Ramon brings to LI with his proven expertise and extensive experience. The Lopez family’s entry into this partnership with him is truly a welcome development and in line with our history of partnering with recognized individuals and institutions to promote the growth of our businesses,” he added.

Piki noted that the transition marks a crucial step in resolving internal family disputes that have impacted their commercial operations.

“It’s a great step toward resolving issues that have affected our family as well as our businesses and can only be good for everyone,” he stated.

In an earlier statement, Gabby Lopez cited personal peace and strategic redirection as the driving forces behind his decision to sell.

“The first is my family,” Gabby explained. “This dispute has not been good for any of us, or for the people who work in our companies. This allows us to take a step towards the restoration of family peace.”

“The second is that it allows me to channel our family’s resources into businesses aligned with our personal mission. We will announce more on this in due time,” he added.

Lopez Inc. maintains key holdings across major Philippine industries, including ABS-CBN Corporation, Rockwell Land, First Gen Corporation, and First Philippine Holdings.
