Philippine media company ABS-CBN Corporation is undergoing a significant transformation in its capital and corporate structure following a fresh ₱6-billion equity entry.
Under the new breakdown, the network’s parent entity, the Lopez Group, will see its majority economic interest decrease from 53.55% down to 23% after contributing a ₱300-million investment into the content provider.
Simultaneously, a combined 24% controlling stake will be held by three distinct branches of the Lopez family through a aggregate ₱2.2-billion capital injection. This investment group consists of:
- Crème Investment Corporation, headed by former ABS-CBN Chairman Emeritus Eugenio “Gabby” Lopez III;
- Mantes Corporation, led by relatives of the late business leader Manuel “Manolo” Lopez; and
- Presta Holdings Company Inc., representing family members under the Presentacion Lopez-Psinakis branch.
Entry of I&C Holdings
The largest portion of the new equity comes from I&C Holdings Corporation, a wholly Filipino-owned private enterprise that is injecting ₱3.5 billion into the media giant to secure a 38% controlling stake. Corporate documentation lists Daniel D. Ibasco, Gary Emerson P. Cheng, and Clarisse Darlene Rose Tan as the company’s official incorporators.
Despite the substantial shifts in equity distribution, key leadership positions within the network will remain stable. ABS-CBN Chairman Mark Lopez and President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Carlo Katigbak are set to retain their respective executive roles.
