As the countdown continues to “Love Like Ashtine,” her first major solo concert set for August 22 at the New Frontier Theater in Quezon City, Ashtine Olviga is entering a defining chapter of her career—one that highlights not only her musical roots but also the remarkable range she has developed as an actress.
Dubbed here as the “chameleon actress of her generation,” Ashtine has demonstrated an ability to move between different characters and genres while steadily establishing her own identity on screen.
Her journey in entertainment began in music. She entered show business through the singing competition Born to Be a Star in 2016 before becoming part of P-pop groups UGG, P-Pop Generation and LITZ. Although singing and dancing came first, acting eventually became the direction in which her career would flourish.
Olviga began building her acting résumé with supporting appearances, including Miss Granny and Tropang Torpe, before taking on more substantial roles in projects such as For The Love, Will You Be My Ex?, The Ship Show, Marita, Sunny and Road Trip.
Her major breakthrough came with Ang Mutya ng Section E, where she portrayed Jasper Jean “Jay-Jay” Mariano opposite Andres Muhlach. The role significantly raised her profile and helped establish her as one of Viva’s most closely watched young actresses.

She subsequently expanded her dramatic credentials with Minamahal: 100 Bulaklak Para Kay Luna, in which she played the lead character Luna. Her growing range was further showcased in Viva One Originals: Ashtine, an anthology that allowed her to explore comedy, romance, horror and drama in separate stories.

The anthology particularly underscored why Olviga’s acting trajectory has attracted attention. In Who’s the Boss?, she ventured into comedy opposite Rufa Mae Quinto; in My Melody, she explored romance with Korean actor Lee Dae-won; in Balik-Eskwela, she tackled a horror-oriented story; and in Bahay-Bahayan, she shared the screen with veteran actress Claudine Barretto.

That willingness to step outside one familiar character or genre makes the “chameleon” description fitting—not because she is defined by a single transformation, but because her recent projects have allowed her to continually reveal different facets of her acting.
Her versatility has also been recognized through award attention. Among her nominations is the Metro Manila Film Festival’s Best Supporting Actress category for Manila’s Finest, as well as a 2026 recognition for Minamahal at the Tit for Tat Pinoy Film Awards.

Yet as the concert countdown reaches its final stretch, Olviga is also reconnecting with the performer she was before acting became her biggest platform.
Her 2026 single “Love Like U” marked another step back into music. She has acknowledged that she once lacked confidence in her singing during her girl-group years, making the opportunity to headline her own concert particularly meaningful.
“Love Like Ashtine” is therefore more than a showcase of her vocal abilities. It represents the convergence of the different sides of Olviga’s career: the former girl-group performer, the recording artist, the rising actress and the increasingly confident young star taking greater ownership of her craft.
She has also taken an unusually hands-on role in preparing the concert, contributing ideas to its concept, setlist, costumes and stage design.
“Ngayon, I am very much involved. Super thankful ako kasi hinahayaan nila akong ma-involve. Sobrang welcoming ng production team. Ipinaramdam nila sa akin na kung may ideas ako, puwede kong sabihin.”
With the concert just days away, the spotlight is no longer solely on JayJay, Luna, Melody, Blessie or any of the other characters she has portrayed. This time, the spotlight belongs entirely to Ashtine Olviga.
And fittingly, the woman taking center stage is an artist whose career has never stayed in just one lane.
