Ayala Land, Inc. (ALI) has entered into lease agreements with Makro Philippines to open four large-format wholesale outlets across its prime mixed-use developments in Luzon.
The upcoming outlets will be situated in key property developments, including Cloverleaf in Quezon City, Arca South in Taguig City, Broadfield in Biñan, Laguna, and Evo City in Kawit, Cavite.
Positioning these outlets within these specific communities places the wholesale retailer directly in the middle of expanding residential and commercial hubs across Metro Manila and Southern Luzon.
Makro Philippines operates as a joint venture combining the local footprint of Ayala Corporation with the commercial expertise of Thai retail giant CP Axtra. Under the terms of the agreement, Ayala Land will retain ownership of the physical properties in Cloverleaf, Broadfield, and Evo City, while Makro handles store construction and daily operations.
Meanwhile, at the Arca South property in Taguig, Makro will serve as a primary retail anchor directly inside Ayala Malls Arca South.
The planned large-format outlets will carry fresh produce, dry groceries, imported goods, and general non-food items aimed at individual consumers and commercial entities through physical store locations alongside an integrated digital platform.
“Bringing a wholesale format like Makro to these locations creates value beyond the retail customer,” said Christopher Maglanoc, Ayala Land regional estates head.
“It also gives families and businesses within and around these estates access to a wider selection of products and a convenient large-format shopping experience,” Maglanoc added.
This partnership secures high-foot-traffic commercial anchors for Ayala Land’s growing master-planned developments while boosting its recurring lease revenue stream.
