Communications Undersecretary and Palace Press Officer Claire Castro has dismissed reports that she is weighing a Senate bid in the 2028 elections.
During a radio interview with DZRH on Thursday, Castro was asked about reports that she had been encouraged to seek a Senate seat.
She said she is not currently considering the possibility, explaining that a political career in the Senate does not appear to fit her professional direction.
Castro also played down speculation that she could join the senatorial race, pointing out that voters would likely have more recognizable and popular candidates to choose from.
She further said it would be too early to make a definite statement about any potential political plans, reiterating that a Senate campaign is not something she is presently considering.
Dapat walang nagagalit sa akin,” she said.
