Content distributor Medialink has officially announced that Ani-One Philippines, alongside Ani-One Asia, has licensed and begun streaming Narumi’s Week at Work (Narumi no Heijitsu), a four-episode short anime spinoff derived from the hit franchise Kaiju No. 8.
The short series officially began airing on September 5, 2026, and is available to stream for free on the official Ani-One Philippines and Ani-One Asia YouTube channels.
New episodes will be released every Saturday at 7:00 PM GMT+8 through September 26, 2026, offering local anime fans weekly installments throughout the month.
Based on an original concept created by Kizuku Watanabe (Kaiju No. 8: Relax), the comedic spinoff shifts the spotlight onto Gen Narumi, the formidable Captain of the First Division of the Japan Defense Force.
Rather than focusing on high-stakes monster battles, the series explores Narumi’s quirky life off the battlefield as he attempts to dodge paperwork, skip mandatory meetings, and grind video games, only to encounter unexpected workplace troubles.
Produced by studio Production I.G, the spinoff features voice actor Kōki Uchiyama reprising his fan-favorite role as Gen Narumi.
The short series is directed by Shigeyuki Miya, featuring character designs by Tetsuya Nishio and music by Yūta Bandō. The production team also includes 3D director Hayato Aragaki and editor Yuka Yamajō.
