CARMI MARTIN DENIES “SIGABO” IS THE SHOW IN PEP BLIND ITEM

Veteran actress Carmi Martin has denied that the Kapamilya action series “Coco Martin’s Sigabo” is the program being referred to in a recent blind item about a television show allegedly ending its run before the year closes.

The blind item, published by entertainment website Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP), sparked speculation among viewers about which program could supposedly be taken off the air.

Martin, one of the cast members of “Sigabo,” said ABS-CBN management has not told the show’s cast and crew that the series is set to end.

She also urged the public to avoid fueling speculation that could affect the livelihoods of people working behind the program.

“Hindi po SIGABO ang nasa blind item. And let us not wish na mawalan po ng trabaho ang team para lang sa intriga. Hindi niyo po gugustuhin sa pamilya ninyo o sa kapwa ninyo na mawalan ng trabaho. Salamat po,” Carmi said on her social media account.

“Coco Martin’s Sigabo” stars Coco Martin and Julia Montes, whose on-screen partnership also extends into their personal relationship.

Meanwhile, according to sources cited by PEP, the action series is reportedly contracted to remain part of the TV5 and ALLTV primetime lineup until 2027.

The report would appear to counter speculation that “Sigabo” is the series supposedly being targeted for an early conclusion.
