ABS-CBN and TV5 are set to refresh their afternoon programming schedules beginning October 5, with both networks bringing back previously aired shows to fill key timeslots.
The changes will take effect following the conclusion of TV5’s inspirational drama series “My Bespren Emman: Ang Huling Laban,” which had been moved to the afternoon block after originally airing during primetime to accommodate its simultaneous availability on ABS-CBN platforms.
ABS-CBN will bring back its 2023 revenge-thriller series “What Lies Beneath” at 2:30 p.m. The drama stars Sue Ramirez, Charlie Dizon, Janella Salvador, Kaila Estrada, JM de Guzman and Jake Cuenca.
The series will be available through Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, A2Z and ABS-CBN on ALLTV.
Meanwhile, TV5 will return “Frontline Express” to the 2:30 p.m. slot as part of its afternoon programming.
The news program will be followed at 3:15 p.m. by “Lumuhod Ka Sa Lupa,” the 2023 action-drama series produced by TV5 and Studio VIVA and led by Kiko Estrada.
The latest schedule adjustments reflect the continuing practice among Philippine television networks of combining new programs with reruns of previously aired series as they reorganize their daily programming blocks.
GMA Network has likewise been airing a repeat run of its 2022 historical drama “Maria Clara at Ibarra,” which currently occupies the 4:30 p.m. timeslot.
