MANILA, Philippines — The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) announced Monday, September 21, that it is intensifying its anti-illegal drug campaign across Metro Manila as the year-end holiday season approaches and business activity gains momentum.
Law enforcement officials are boosting preventive and intelligence-driven initiatives to counter drug syndicates seeking to capitalize on elevated consumer spending and increased public movement during the “ber” months.
“We will strengthen intelligence monitoring and law enforcement operations against drug syndicates, particularly during the holiday season when criminal activities may increase,” NCRPO Officer-in-Charge Brig. Gen. Christopher Abrahano stated in an official press release.
To enhance anti-narcotics efforts, the NCRPO is partnering with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and allied law enforcement bodies to streamline intelligence exchange, refine case development, and execute joint operations aimed at dismantling drug networks.
Surveillance efforts will also be scaled up in high-risk zones vulnerable to drug transactions, including nightlife districts, transit hubs, and commercial centers.
Additionally, police visibility will be expanded in key locations to deter criminal acts and ensure swift operational responses to incidents.
