MANILA, Philippines — DHL Express has announced an average price increase of 5.9% on its Philippine shipping services, scheduled to take effect on January 1, 2027, as the logistics provider manages persistent financial pressures.
The courier firm noted that the upcoming rate change aligns with a broader annual price restructuration taking place throughout its worldwide distribution network.
According to the business, its bottom line remains heavily impacted by escalating fuel costs, growing workforce overheads, and the mounting expense of adhering to global trade and security mandates.
“International trade continues to create new opportunities for businesses, while supply chains are becoming increasingly interconnected and complex,” Nigel Lockett, Managing Director for DHL Express Philippines, said. “This annual price adjustment enables us to maintain the high level of service and reliability our customers expect while continuing to strengthen the resilience and adaptability of our global operations,” he added.
These price changes reflect wider economic volatility affecting courier firms across more than 220 international territories. In response, DHL Express has poured capital into enhancing digital infrastructure, updating compliance mechanisms, and modernizing its cargo aircraft.
Key investments comprise the final delivery phase of 28 Boeing 777 air freighters, upgrades to regional processing hubs, and the deployment of digital solutions like the AI-driven MyExpress platform.
Furthermore, the enterprise hit a key operational benchmark in 2026 by achieving Transported Asset Protection Association (TAPA) certification for over 500 facilities globally. It also continues to invest in eco-friendly initiatives—such as sustainable aviation fuels (SAF), zero-emission last-mile delivery fleets, and green infrastructure—to reach sustainability targets and lower supply chain emissions for clients.
The rate adjustments will apply to standard express service offerings across the country, though specific costs will vary based on package dimensions, weight, and delivery destination.
