QUEZON CITY, Philippines — Studio Viva and streaming platform Viva One have formally unveiled the primary cast for the upcoming local adaptation of the hit 2017 South Korean series “Fight For My Way”.
The romantic comedy series will star Kapuso actor David Licauco alongside actress Ashtine Olviga in the lead roles, portraying character counterparts originally played by Korean stars Park Seo-joon and Kim Ji-won. Joining the central group of four long-time friends are actors McCoy De Leon and Aubrey Caraan.
In the localized version, Licauco takes on the role of Hanz, while Olviga portrays Aira. Caraan and De Leon complete the core ensemble as Sally and Manny, respectively. The narrative centers on four underdogs navigating corporate struggles, personal setbacks, and romantic tension while attempting to pursue their big dreams.
Director Crisanto Aquino led the main cast during a story conference and line-reading session to showcase the cast’s chemistry and offer a sneak peek into the adaptation’s tone.
Addressing their character dynamics during the project preview, the production team teased the group’s dynamic energy.
”Makulit pero sweet, maloko pero ‘di papatalo, at lalaban nang walang inaatrasan!” Viva One shared in an official character reveal post.
Marking Viva One’s first official South Korean series adaptation, the show is scheduled to premiere exclusively on the platform on November 20.
