MANILA, PHILIPPINES — TV5 is set to give its weekend programming a fresh boost beginning Saturday, October 10, with the addition of two well-known Filipino entertainment programs, the iconic drama anthology “Maalaala Mo Kaya” (MMK) and Matteo Guidicelli’s talk show “Matteo G. Primetime.”
MMK BRINGS ITS EMOTIONAL STORIES TO TV5
Kapuso and Kapatid viewers will have another opportunity to revisit some of the most memorable Filipino stories as “MMK: Hugot From The Vault” joins TV5’s Saturday-night lineup.
Hosted by veteran actress and longtime broadcaster Charo Santos-Concio, “Maalaala Mo Kaya” is recognized as the Philippines’ longest-running drama anthology. The program premiered on May 15, 1991, and became known for dramatizing real-life stories submitted by letter writers, with episodes tackling themes of family, love, sacrifice, resilience and triumph over adversity.
The anthology has remained closely associated with Santos-Concio, who has served as its host throughout its long television run. She previously served as ABS-CBN’s President and Chief Executive Officer from 2013 to 2015, while continuing her work in front of the camera through MMK.
The program’s enduring appeal was further underscored in 2026 when “Maalaala Mo Kaya” received the Best Anthology award at the inaugural FAMAS Broadcast Awards.
Following its original television run, MMK returned with a limited series in 2025 and continued its presence through the “Hugot From The Vault” format, which features selected stories from its extensive archive.
For its TV5 run, “MMK: Hugot From The Vault” is scheduled to air beginning Saturday, October 10, at 8:30 p.m., following “Kapamilya, Deal or No Deal.” The program will also be available through the Kapamilya platforms and channels indicated in the network’s programming lineup.
MATTEO G. PRIMETIME MOVES TO THE KAPATID NETWORK
Joining MMK in TV5’s new Saturday-night lineup is “Matteo G. Primetime,” hosted by actor and television personality Matteo Guidicelli.
The program originally premiered on the Bilyonaryo News Channel (BNC) on April 11, 2026, as a 30-minute Saturday talk show built around candid conversations with celebrity and public-interest guests. Guidicelli’s interview style has allowed the program to explore personal experiences, relationships, careers, business and other issues beyond the usual entertainment headlines.
Among the personalities who appeared on the program during its BNC run were celebrity couple Judy Ann Santos and Ryan Agoncillo, as well as Piolo Pascual, Nico Bolzico and Erwan Heussaff. Their appearances generated attention for the show’s relaxed yet direct interview format and Guidicelli’s sometimes unconventional questions.
The program also introduced “What Matters,” a segment developed to discuss practical and timely topics that viewers encounter in everyday life. Guidicelli described the segment as a space for conversations about subjects that people can easily overlook amid the fast pace of daily life, including social media and artificial intelligence.
After its stint with BNC, the talk show is now set to make TV5 its new television home, giving Guidicelli another opportunity to connect with a broader audience through long-form conversations.
“Matteo G. Primetime” is scheduled to air on TV5 at 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 10, immediately following “MMK: Hugot From The Vault.”
With the addition of the two programs, TV5 strengthens its Saturday-night entertainment offering by bringing together the nostalgic and emotional storytelling of MMK with Guidicelli’s contemporary interview-driven format.
The move also gives viewers a weekend block that combines familiar Kapamilya programming with fresh opportunities for Kapatid audiences, further expanding the range of entertainment available on Philippine television.
