PAGASA WARNS OF SCATTERED RAINS AND THUNDERSTORMS DURING UNDAS 2026

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) has released its special weather outlook, reporting that the shear line, the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ), and the northeast monsoon—locally known as amihan—will bring rains and thunderstorms to various parts of the country throughout the Undas long weekend from October 30 to November 2.

On Friday, October 30, the shear line will bring cloudy skies, scattered rain showers, and isolated thunderstorms to Isabela, Aurora, and Quezon. Concurrently, the ITCZ will affect Central Visayas, the Zamboanga Peninsula, Northern Mindanao, Caraga, Southern Leyte, Negros Oriental, and Siquijor, while the amihan will bring cloudy skies and isolated light rains to Batanes, Cagayan, Apayao, Abra, and Ilocos Norte.

As the long weekend progresses into Saturday, October 31, the amihan will trigger cloudy skies and rains over Batanes, Cagayan, and Isabela. Meanwhile, the shear line will impact the Bicol Region, Aurora, Quezon, Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, and Samar, and the ITCZ will bring scattered rains and thunderstorms to Palawan, the Zamboanga Peninsula, Basilan, and Tawi-Tawi.

On Sunday, November 1—All Saints’ Day—the shear line is expected to continue bringing scattered rains and isolated thunderstorms to the Bicol Region, Aurora, and Quezon, while the ITCZ will persist over Palawan, the Zamboanga Peninsula, Basilan, and Tawi-Tawi.

Across Metro Manila and the remainder of the country, residents can anticipate isolated rain showers or thunderstorms from Friday through Sunday.

By Monday, November 2, for All Souls’ Day, the amihan will shift to bring isolated light rains across Metro Manila, the Cagayan Valley, the Cordillera Administrative Region, the Ilocos Region, Central Luzon, Cavite, Batangas, Laguna, and Rizal.
