Bimby Aquino recently opened up about his future plans, discussing his aspirations for marriage, family, and a potential career in public service during an appearance on GMA Network’s afternoon talk show Fast Talk With Boy Abunda.
The young celebrity shared that he hopes to settle down relatively early.
”I want to marry early. Mid to late 20s, but I’m preferring mid,” he shared.
Bimby expressed his wish for his mother, veteran TV host and actress Kris Aquino, and his godfather and host Boy Abunda to walk him down the aisle.
However, addressing the reality of her ongoing health struggles, Kris offered a grounded perspective.
”I might not be around. We’re being realistic,” she said.
Although Bimby is currently single, he mentioned that Kris has previously encouraged him to date some of his female friends, though none of those relationships progressed past friendship. He also emphasized a strict condition for his future partner, stating that acceptance of his older brother, Josh, who is on the autism spectrum, is non-negotiable. Recalling his mother’s advice regarding his duty to look after Josh in the future, Bimby noted:
”If my wife doesn’t accept my brother (Josh), no na. I really can’t handle that. I can’t live without him.”
In addition to his personal milestones, Bimby revealed an interest in entering public service, which would continue a prominent political legacy established by his grandparents, former President Cory Aquino and former Senator Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino Jr., as well as his uncles, former President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III and Senator Bam Aquino.
”I have to be honest, a big part of my heart is really leaning towards public service,” he said.
Mindful of his mother’s teachings regarding the heavy sacrifices required in politics, Bimby stated that he intends to start his political career at the grassroots level.
”I prefer to start local. Iba talaga ang boots on the ground,” he explained.
When asked if he could envision himself seeking the presidency in the future, he answered plainly:
”Absolutely.”
Despite his ambitious outlook, Bimby reflected that his mother’s greatest achievement goes far beyond her illustrious entertainment career.
”It’s the only life I’ve ever known eh and it’s a life that I’d like to think is a very blessed life because I got to come out of the person that I love most,” he said.
”No matter what she accomplished, no matter what she did during her professional career, the thing that I admire the most about her is that she raised me right and raised my brother right,” he added.
