PHILHEALTH WARNS PUBLIC AGAINST SCAMMERS IMPERSONATING CHIEF BEVERLY HO

The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) has issued a stern warning to the public against unauthorized individuals and entities posing as its Acting President and Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Beverly Lorraine Ho, to solicit money, donations, and sponsorships.

In an official advisory released on Tuesday, November 3, the state health insurer urged healthcare providers, partners, and stakeholders to remain vigilant against fraudulent solicitations exploiting Dr. Ho’s name.

“PhilHealth strictly clarifies that neither Dr. Beverly Lorraine Ho nor any official or employee of PhilHealth is authorized to solicit funds, donations, or personal bank transfers from the public or our partners,” the agency stated.

PhilHealth stressed that any messages, phone calls, emails, or social media accounts seeking payments or financial aid under the guise of the agency or its personnel are entirely illicit.

“Any message, call, email, or social media account requesting payments or financial aid under the name of PhilHealth, its officers and employees are fraudulent and part of an illegal scam,” the warning read.

The public is strongly advised to refrain from engaging with suspicious accounts or individuals and to report any such encounters immediately. Reports can be directed to the PhilHealth Corporate Action Center, the nearest PhilHealth Regional Office, or any Local Health Insurance Office.

To prevent falling victim to scams, PhilHealth reminded stakeholders that legitimate transactions must be processed strictly through its official regional and local networks.
