PBBM AND MILF CHIEF COMMIT TO SIGNING EXIT AGREEMENT BEFORE TERM ENDS

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) Chairman Ahod “Al Haj Murad” Ebrahim met at Malacañan Palace this week to reaffirm their commitment to finalizing the Bangsamoro peace process.

Both leaders pledged to complete all remaining obligations and sign an exit agreement before President Marcos Jr.’s term concludes.

Communications Undersecretary and Palace Press Officer Claire Castro shared the details of the meeting during a Palace briefing on Friday, November 6.

According to Castro, the administration and MILF leadership discussed advancing the peace process and ensuring the full implementation of the Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro (CAB). Murad re

affirmed the MILF’s dedication to moving the agreement forward, which includes the final phase of combatant decommissioning scheduled for next year.

The discussions also focused on accelerating development programs to deliver livelihood opportunities and uplift communities across the region. Castro emphasized that the ongoing initiatives extend beyond legal paperwork.

The high-level meeting was initiated following a letter from Chairman Murad requesting a dialogue with the President to discuss the ongoing progress and future of the Bangsamoro peace agreement.
