Johnny Depp is taking his biggest step back into mainstream Hollywood as Paramount Pictures unveiled the first trailer for Ebenezer, his first major studio feature since his high-profile 2022 defamation trial against Amber Heard.
While Depp has taken on several international projects in recent years, Ebenezer marks his most prominent return to a major studio lineup. Directed by Ti West, the movie delivers a darker reimagining of Charles Dickens’ classic novel A Christmas Carol, starring Depp as the iconic miser Ebenezer Scrooge.
The newly released preview offers fans a first look at Depp’s take on the infamous grump, whose solitary life is upended by supernatural visitations. Adapted for the screen by Nathaniel Halpern, the film boasts a star-studded supporting cast including Ian McKellen, Rupert Grint, and Daisy Ridley.
Ebenezer is set to hit theaters this November.
