Kapamilya host and box-office star Vice Ganda is open to the possibility of making a guest appearance on “Eat… Bulaga!” as part of the promotional activities for his upcoming Metro Manila Film Festival movie with veteran comedian Vic Sotto.
In an interview with Kapatid news personality Jervi Wrightson, Vice revealed that he and Sotto are interested in making the unusual crossover happen to promote their first movie collaboration, “The Greatest Showdown,” which is set to compete in the 2026 MMFF.
Vice currently serves as one of the main hosts of ABS-CBN’s “It’s Showtime,” while Sotto is among the hosts of “Eat… Bulaga!” The two noontime programs have been longtime competitors since 2012.
Vice said they have even discussed the possibility of appearing on each other’s shows.
“We both wanna try doing it… Iconic yun day diba?! Mag-i ‘Eat Bulaga!’ ako tapos si Bossing naman magso-‘Showtime’. For the audience diba?!,” Vice said.
However, the comedian acknowledged that the proposed crossover would still depend on several considerations, including approval from the television networks that air the two programs.
“It’s Showtime” is currently broadcast on GMA-7, while “Eat… Bulaga!” airs on TV5.

Vice also opened up about his experience working with Sotto, admitting that he remains shy around the veteran entertainer despite having already filmed several scenes together.
“Alam mo nahihiya pa rin talaga ako sa kanya. Sabi ko, ‘Direk (Jun Lana) kilala mo ko, matapang ako, ang yabang ko diba? Pero nung siya na (Bossing), nahihiya akong kausapin sya,” Vice said.
He further recalled how director Jun Lana noticed the contrast between their on-camera chemistry and their interactions when the cameras were not rolling.
“Pag take, okay kami. Sabi niya (Jun Lana), ang ganda ganda ng chemistry nyo pero pag hindi, hindi mo sya chini-chika? Sabi ko, nahihiya ako talaga.”
Despite his nervousness, Vice said he is determined to perform at his best whenever he shares a scene with Sotto.
He also said “The Greatest Showdown” will deliver the kind of comedy that audiences have come to associate with both stars, unlike the more dramatic or unconventional films they recently headlined at the MMFF.
Vice previously starred in the family drama “Call Me Mother,” which earned him the Best Actor award at the 2025 MMFF. Sotto, meanwhile, headlined the alternative historical drama “The Kingdom” during the 2024 festival.
Directed by Jun Robles Lana, “The Greatest Showdown” is produced by ABS-CBN Studios, Star Cinema, M-Zet Productions, APT Entertainment and The IdeaFirst Company.
The film is scheduled to open in cinemas on December 25 as part of the 2026 Metro Manila Film Festival.
