WILBERT ROSS, BEA BINENE TO STAR IN PH ADAPTATION OF ‘PEE MAK’

Following the success of their digital series Golden Scenery of Tomorrow, VIVA Entertainment’s breakout loveteam Wilbert Ross and Bea Binene are set to bring their chemistry to the big screen.

VIVA Films and Studio VIVA recently confirmed that the duo will headline the Philippine adaptation of the 2013 Thai horror-romcom hit Pee Mak.

The original film, which starred Thai actors Mario Maurer and Davika Hoorne, follows the story of a soldier named Mak.

“When soldier Mak returns home from war, he’s overjoyed to reunite with his beautiful wife Nak and meet their newborn baby. But their peaceful village is hiding a terrifying secret—Nak is rumored to have died and returned as a ghost.”

The adaptation promises a blend of humor and horror as Mak’s four best friends attempt to uncover the truth about Nak, leading to “chaos, laughter, and supernatural scares.” Despite the comedic and chilling elements, the heart of the film remains a “touching love story that refuses to die.”

The Philippine remake of Pee Mak is expected to hit theaters later this year, marking another milestone for Ross and Binene as they transition from digital success to mainstream cinema.
