An arrested talent manager identified four lawyers to the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), accusing them of drafting a script and affidavit to falsely link Executive Secretary Ralph Recto to a fabricated sex scandal.
Attorney Raymund Palad confirmed that his client, operating under the alias “Ken,” submitted a supplemental affidavit to NBI investigators late Friday afternoon.
Palad added that the talent manager surrendered his mobile phone for forensic examination to support the agency’s probe.
According to the talent manager, the four lawyers claimed to represent Batangas 1st District Representative Leandro Leviste, whom he alleged was funding the character assassination plot.
The informant further claimed these attorneys attended two meetings with former Negros Oriental 1st District Representative Jacinto “Jing” Paras, alleging Paras acted as a facilitator for the operation. Both Leviste and Paras have firmly denied any involvement.
Expressing remorse for his role in the controversy, the talent manager stated that he deeply regrets allowing himself to be used in the attempt to smear Recto.
