CANBERRA, Australia — Qualified Filipino travelers can now apply for Australia’s new frequent traveler visa, offering multiple entries valid for up to 10 years for an application fee of AU$1,845, roughly equivalent to ₱80,700.
The Australian Department of Home Affairs announced that this visa is open to citizens of 11 nations, including the Philippines, Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, Timor-Leste, and China.
Designed specifically for frequent travelers, the visa accommodates individuals visiting for tourism, holidays, cruises, family or friend visits, and business visitor activities. While holders can enter Australia multiple times throughout the visa’s validity, each individual visit is restricted to three months, and cumulative stays cannot exceed 12 months over any 24-month period.
The department noted that the AU$1,845 fee is levied per applicant, with potential fee concessions restricted only to specific, limited circumstances. Furthermore, applicants are required to be outside of Australia both at the time of application submission and when the final decision is rendered.
To qualify, applicants must hold a valid passport from an eligible country and submit their biometrics at an official Australian Biometric Collection Centre. Additional costs may also arise from mandatory health examinations, police clearances, and other supporting documentation.
Every family member, including minors sharing a parent’s passport, must submit a distinct, separate application. Additionally, applicants need to fulfill Australia’s standard health and character criteria, prove they are genuine visitors, show proof of sufficient financial funds for their intended duration, and arrange proper travel or return itineraries.
Comprehensive details regarding eligibility standards, fees, and application guidelines are accessible directly through the Australian Government Department of Home Affairs official website.
