MANILA, Philippines — Three allies of former Vice President and current Naga City Mayor Leni Robredo have emerged as the most trusted senators among Filipinos, according to the latest survey by the independent research firm Publicus Asia.
Results from the “PAHAYAG Survey,” conducted from October 1 to 4 with 1,581 respondents, show Senator Bam Aquino leading as the most trusted senator with a 51% rating. He is closely followed by Senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan in second place with 45%, and Senator Risa Hontiveros securing third with 43%.
Rounding out the upper tier of the trust rankings are Senators Panfilo “Ping” Lacson and Raffy Tulfo, who tied at 36%; Senate President Win Gatchalian and Senator Christopher “Bong” Go, both at 35%; Senate President Pro Tempore Vicente “Tito” Sotto III at 33%; and Senators Francis “Chiz” Escudero and Erwin Tulfo, who tied at 32%.
Conversely, the survey highlighted low public confidence for several lawmakers, with six senators registering the highest negative trust ratings.
Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa recorded the highest unfavorable net rating at 43%, followed closely by Senators Jinggoy Estrada and Robin Padilla, both sitting at 41%. Dela Rosa is currently in hiding following an arrest warrant issued by the International Criminal Court (ICC), while Estrada remains detained over plunder charges linked to anomalous flood-control projects.
Rounding out the list of lawmakers with low trust scores are Senators Imee Marcos and Camille Villar, tied at 38%, and Senator Rodante Marcoleta at 37%. Marcoleta, much like Estrada, is currently detained facing plunder charges concerning allegedly undeclared campaign donations during the 2025 elections.
