BONG REVILLA FACES GRUELING CONDITIONS IN QUEZON CITY JAIL

Agimat Party-list Representative Bryan Revilla shared on Tuesday that his father, former Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr., is enduring a challenging environment following his confinement at the Quezon City Jail earlier this year.

The lawmaker visited the former senator, who is currently detained over a malversation case connected to a controversial flood control project in Bulacan. The visit took place on the exact day Senator Jinggoy Estrada was booked into the same detention facility.

This is not the first time the two high-profile politicians have found themselves in the same correctional institution. In 2014, Revilla and Estrada were held together at the Philippine National Police (PNP) Custodial Center in Camp Crame over plunder charges tied to the Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) scam.

Both men were ultimately released and acquitted after spending several years behind bars.

When questioned about how his father is coping with life inside the Quezon City facility, Bryan Revilla admitted that the physical environment is taking a toll.

”It’s really tough,”

he stated, explaining that the former senator is currently placed in a shared cell with other inmates.

”It’s hot inside. It’s summer right now,”

he added, highlighting the uncomfortable seasonal heat within the quarters.

Regarding whether his father has crossed paths with Senator Jinggoy Estrada inside the complex yet, the younger Revilla could not give a definitive answer.

”I don’t think so,” he responded.
