CEBU PACIFIC PARTNERS WITH DLS-CSB TO LAUNCH INTERNSHIP PROGRAM FOR DEAF STUDENTS

Cebu Pacific (CEB) has officially introduced a pioneering internship program designed for deaf students, established in partnership with the De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde (DLS-CSB).

The collaboration was finalized through a memorandum of agreement signed alongside the college’s School of Deaf Education and Applied Studies (SDEAS). The initiative is designed to provide students with valuable hands-on experience within the aviation industry.

According to the airline, the interns have joined the cabin operations department. In this role, they will support daily operational tasks and acquire direct insights into the airline sector.

To prepare for the students’ arrival and cultivate an inclusive workplace, Cebu Pacific employees participated in a deaf awareness training seminar facilitated by SDEAS.

Felix Lopez, Cebu Pacific’s chief human resources officer, shared his optimism for the new program.

“We’re excited to welcome our students from DLS-CSB to Cebu Pacific and learn alongside them. Internships are often a person’s first step into the workforce, and we want that experience to be meaningful, supportive, and empowering,” Lopez said in a statement.

Lopez added that the airline intends for this partnership to showcase the valuable contributions of a diverse workforce, while inspiring other corporations to open more professional pathways for deaf individuals.

The SDEAS interns are set to fulfill 360 hours of on-the-job training, with the program slated to run until August 14, 2026.
