Severe weather conditions caused by the southwest monsoon and consecutive tropical cyclones—Maymay, Luis, and Neneng—have caused over ₱6.6 billion in structural and agricultural losses across 11 regions, according to the Office of Civil Defense (OCD).
Data released by the disaster management agency on Friday morning places infrastructure destruction at approximately ₱4.88 billion, while agricultural losses stand at ₱1.73 billion, bringing the cumulative total to ₱6.61 billion.
The succession of weather disturbances affected more than 6.6 million individuals, or roughly 1.9 million families, spanning Luzon, the Visayas, and parts of Mindanao. The affected areas include CAR, Regions 1, 2, 3, 4A, 4B, 5, 6, 8, 9, and the National Capital Region.
The casualties from the bad weather have reached 29 deaths, with 19 injuries and three individuals currently unaccounted for.
Displacement remains widespread, with 701 active evacuation centers providing shelter to over 15,000 families, totaling more than 52,000 residents. The OCD also recorded 2,110 damaged residential properties, of which 226 were completely destroyed.
Relief operations remain underway, with the national government providing more than ₱1 billion in assistance to devastated areas.
