The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) has recorded more than 4.7 million voter registration applications nationwide as the deadline approaches for the upcoming Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections (BSKE) scheduled later this year.
Official data released by the poll body revealed that a total of 4,750,551 voter registration applications were processed between October 20, 2025, when the registration booths opened, and May 9.
Among the country’s regions, Region IV-A (CALABARZON) surged ahead with the highest voter turnout, logging 767,901 applicants. Region III (Central Luzon) followed closely behind, securing the second-highest spot with 524,679 registrants.
According to COMELEC, the nationwide voter registration for the November 2 BSKE is down to its final stretch and will officially run until May 18.
Under the existing guidelines, individuals aged 18 years old and above are eligible to apply as regular voters. Meanwhile, citizens between 15 and 17 years old may register as youth voters, qualifying them to participate specifically in the Sangguniang Kabataan (youth council) elections.
The poll body reminded the public that qualified applicants may file their registration at the nearest local COMELEC office or visit designated satellite registration sites established in malls, schools, and barangay halls across the country.
