DICT RESTORES OFFICIAL GAZETTE, PCO WEBSITES AFTER DOWNTIME

The Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) announced on Wednesday that the official websites of the Official Gazette and the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) are once again fully operational and accessible to the public.

According to a DICT advisory, both government platforms experienced temporary downtime starting at around 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The disruption prompted the immediate deployment of technical teams to investigate the cause and initiate system restoration procedures.

While the websites are back online, the DICT cautioned that the public may still encounter slightly slower page-loading speeds as technical teams continue system optimization efforts.

The agency’s cybersecurity arm is currently digging into the root cause of the unexpected technical glitch to rule out any malicious activity.

“The DICT through its National Computer Emergency Response Team (NCERT) is currently conducting a thorough investigation and is preparing the necessary audit logs,” the advisory stated.

The DICT further noted that the NCERT is actively coordinating with the PCO management to determine whether the downtime was triggered by routine scheduled maintenance, configuration updates, internal administrative adjustments, or external factors such as a cyberattack.
