CAMP CRAME, QUEZON CITY — The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) has put up a ₱50-million bounty for any information that will lead to the capture of Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa, who is currently wanted by the International Criminal Court (ICC).
During a press briefing at Camp Crame, Interior Secretary Jonvic Remulla announced the substantial reward and declared that law enforcement authorities now view the fugitive lawmaker as “armed and dangerous”.
“As for today, Senator Bato will be considered armed and dangerous. We are placing ₱50 million for his capture,” Remulla stated.
Following the announcement, the Philippine National Police (PNP) is set to organize a specialized tracker team dedicated to finding and arresting Dela Rosa. Officials noted that the reward money will be drawn from the combined intelligence funds of both the PNP and the DILG.
Dela Rosa has remained out of the public eye since May 14, when he departed the Senate building following a high-stakes standoff between Senate security personnel and National Bureau of Investigation agents who attempted to serve his ICC arrest warrant.
In addition to the multi-million-peso reward, police authorities have issued a one-week ultimatum urging the senator to surrender.
